Tullio Simoncini and the Candida Albicans Hypothesis:

Tullio Simoncini, a former Italian physician born in 1951, is a controversial figure in alternative medicine. He is widely recognized for his unconventional belief that an overgrowth of the fungus Candida albicans primarily causes Cancer. Additionally, Simoncini has asserted that Cancer can be effectively treated using intravenous sodium bicarbonate. This article will delve into his research and the broader scientific perspective on his theories.

Simoncini’s background as an oncologist has come under scrutiny due to his unorthodox approach to treating Cancer with sodium bicarbonate. This has led to scepticism within the medical community. Critics argue that his divergence from conventional practices is a substantial factor in the mainstream medical establishment’s lack of acceptance of his work.

At the core of Simoncini’s theory is that Candida albicans, a common fungus in the human body, play a central role in cancer development. He proposes that Candida overgrowth can lead to the formation of cancerous growths, and his treatment method involves intravenous sodium bicarbonate to counteract this overgrowth. However, it is crucial to emphasize that this hypothesis has not gained significant support from peer-reviewed scientific studies.

In contrast to Simoncini’s assertions, the American Association for Cancer Research acknowledges an association between fungi, including Candida, and Cancer. However, it is essential to underline that this association does not equate to causation. Scientifically, the relationship between Candida and Cancer is still not fully understood, and researchers have not conclusively established a direct cause-and-effect connection.

While Simoncini’s theories have not gained widespread acceptance, it’s intriguing to explore the potential connection between his fungal hypothesis and the use of peptides found in Kambo for the treatment of fungal infections and the possible implications for cancer prevention or treatment.

Kambo, a substance derived from the secretions of the giant monkey frog, has gained attention for its potential medicinal properties, including its antimicrobial and antifungal characteristics. The peptides in Kambo, such as dermaseptin and phylloseptin, have been studied for their ability to combat a range of microorganisms, including fungi. These peptides are thought to disrupt the cell membranes of microorganisms, rendering them inactive.

Considering the fungal hypothesis of Cancer, where an overgrowth of fungi like Candida albicans is suggested as a potential cause, it’s reasonable to explore how Kambo’s antifungal properties might be beneficial. While the scientific evidence linking fungal infections to Cancer remains inconclusive, if a fungal component were indeed implicated in some cases, addressing fungal infections could be a potential avenue for cancer prevention or complementary treatment.

Here are a few ways in which the peptides in Kambo could theoretically contribute to the treatment or prevention of fungal infections, which may be tangentially related to the hypothetical fungal link to Cancer proposed by Simoncini:

1. Antifungal Properties: Kambo peptides, with their antimicrobial and antifungal properties, may help reduce the overgrowth of fungi like Candida, potentially preventing fungal infections or addressing them in cancer patients.

2. Immune System Support: Kambo is known to stimulate the immune system. A robust immune response is essential for the body’s ability to combat infections, including fungal ones. Strengthening the immune system can be valuable in cancer prevention and treatment.

3. Detoxification: Some proponents of Kambo suggest that it can aid in detoxification. If fungal overgrowth is linked to Cancer, detoxification of the body could play a role in cancer prevention.

It’s crucial to emphasize that while these connections between Kambo peptides and potential fungal infections or cancer prevention are speculative, they highlight the complexity of cancer research and the diverse approaches to understanding and addressing this complex disease. The scientific community continues to investigate the possible causes of Cancer, and while Simoncini’s theories have not been widely accepted, they stimulate important discussions about alternative perspectives and therapeutic possibilities.

How can kambo help us?

Kambo is traditionally used to treat malaria, snake bites, fevers and increase fertility. Hunters use it because it sharpens vision, hearing and smell and increases stamina and strength. In the west, kambo may help with migraines, allergies, asthma, depression, blood circulation problems, vascular insufficiency, organ diseases, cancer, fertility problems, AIDS, hepatitis, addictions and many illnesses still hidden in the body that are not showing any visible symptoms. Kambo may also prevent Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and other age-related diseases.

On the emotional and spiritual levels it is used to remove ‘panema’, which the tribes define as dark, heavy, or negative energies that manifest as bad luck, illness, depression, laziness and lack of clarity. 

In my own experience, kambo has brought psychical healing, balance, clarity and a feeling of being in alignment. It was said by a shaman in the Kaxinawa tribe to ‘make the heart move correctly’ and I do believe this is medicine for the heart.

How does Kambo work?

Our bodies produce peptides – a short chain of amino acids most commonly known as endorphins, serotonin, dopamine and oxytocin, plus our natural antibiotics. Kambo contains a cocktail of unique bioactive peptides that work with the body by sweeping toxins from the cells and washing them into the stomach. Each of these peptides has a deeply cleansing effect. One has even been found to kill cancer cells. Two litres of water are drunk 15 minutes before the medicine is applied, in order to purge out your own bodily waste. This deep level cleanse is incredibly healing for the body, mind and spirit.

What will you experience during kambo?

The effects of kambo are strong but fast. It is an intense medicine lasting from 20-40 minutes. Kambo is applied by burning small, superficial points onto the skin. This allows the medicine into the lymphatic system once applied. The kambo itself is mixed with a little water and divided into small dots to place on the burn points, also known as ‘gates’. The number of points varies for each individual.

Once the medicine is applied it will not take long for you to experience a warm flush and increased heart rate. Different reactions can occur during the treatment, including dizziness, feeling spaced out, swollen face or lips and fainting. These are not guaranteed but if they do occur are nothing to be alarmed about and they will pass. Remember, your best friend at this time will be your breath – breathe slowly and deeply. Your blood pressure will then drop and soon you will begin purging. This purging usually takes the form of vomiting but there can also be defecation, crying, sweating and shaking. Not usually at the same time though! It is recommended to come with an intention to work with as this can really focus the treatment.

Once the purge has reached an end the points will be removed and you will be allowed to rest, before eating some light food. After-effects can vary so it is best to give yourself a few hours of downtime to be sure.

Prayers, songs and other medicines

The ceremony is accompanied by prayers and songs and every member of the circle is holding space so that we can support one another’s process.

During the ceremony two more sacred medicines will be offered:
Sananga  (Optional) medicine that is dropped into the eyes and is said to remove panema, seek out trauma and is good for eye conditions. It stings like crazy for a minute or so, this is normal and soon passes!

Rapé – a traditional medicine used by the tribes which is made of fine tobacco powder combined with ashes from specific trees from the Amazon which has many uses, including grounding, dreaming, and helping with the purging process.

Both of these medicines help to give clarity and grounding to our body, mind, and spirit. Receiving these medicines is entirely optional.

Will the points leave scars?

The scars disappear after several months for a few people, but remain permanently for others (and are always a source of great pride) but they usually fade over time. I can show you pics if you are concerned. You would have the points on your arm or leg.

What to bring:

• Filtered water ( If you prefer to have filtered / bottled water please bring 3 litres with you) I use tap water as you will purge most of it out anyway.
• Your intentions. What are you looking to get from a Kambo treatment.
• A change of clothes

What to wear:

• Loose comfortable clothing.
• Layers, as temperature can rise and fall during the treatment.
• A change of clothes is recommended.

 How to prepare:

• No alcohol / drugs for 24 hours before or after, longer is obviously better.
• Please inform me of any health issues, medications, drug or alcohol use. All information is completely confidential.
• Stay off all solid foods for 8-12 hours before treatment. No water / liquid in the two hours before.
• Preferably eat clean food for at least 3 days before and aim to get a good night’s sleep the night before so you have some energy for the medicine
• Don’t plan anything for at least a few hours afterwards. After effects can vary from warrior mode to wiped out so give yourself space to rest after the treatment.
• Occasionally Kambo can leave some residual facial swelling. Rest assured it will go down but don’t go planning any photoshoots straight after just in case!
• Also be aware that Kambo can sometimes make things worse before they get better. It’s a deep, healing process so do not be alarmed if certain emotional or physical issues arise in the days following treatment. However if it worries you in any way get in touch.
• Circle should take about 2-3hrs in total, depending on the group size.
• Purging varies but generally lasts somewhere between 20-40 minutes.

IMPORTANT! Please take time to read through the contraindications below. Kambo is not for everybody and excluded for those with the following health conditions for safety purposes:

• Serious Heart Problems (if you are unsure please call to discuss)
• Stroke
• On medication  for low blood pressure
• Aneurisms or blood clots
• Anyone lacking the mental capacity to make the decision to take Kambo
•  Serious mental health problems (excluding anxiety and depression)
• Undergoing chemotherapy and for up to 4 weeks afterwards
• On immune-suppressants for organ transplant
• Women who are pregnant or maybe so
• Women who are breast-feeding a child under 6 months old
• Addison’s disease)
• If you have taken bufo alvarius very recently
• People recovering from surgery

Other points to note:

• If you are asthmatic please make sure to bring your inhaler.
• If you are diabetic please contact me to discuss treatment in advance.
• If you are menstruating be aware that Kambo contains powerful vasodilators therefore may increase the flow for 24-36 hours following treatment.
• If you have ever or are currently suffering from a mental health condition (excluding depression) please contact me to discuss, regardless of whether or not you are taking medication. All information given to me is treated in strictest confidence.

Four ways that Kambo can enhance your Ayahuasca experience 

Purging Your Digestive Tract for More Effective Absorption

Purging is a significant aspect of using both kambo and ayahuasca. With ayahuasca, though, it is often thought of as a side-effect or something endured during the initial phases of the experience in order to reach the peak. On the other hand, purging while using kambo is one of the main goals. And when kambo is used to purge your system before taking ayahuasca, it can increase the speed and efficacy of the absorption of ayahuasca, giving you a cleaner, more intense experience at a lower dosage.

Increasing Circulation to Facilitate Crossing of the Blood-Brain Barrier

The peptides phyllomedusin and phyllokinin—both present in kambo— are potent blood vessel dilators. As the kambo begins to circulate through your body, your blood vessels will expand, allowing the peptides to cross over your blood-brain barrier more easily. Your blood vessels will remain dilated, and you will experience increased blood circulation for a short time after the treatment. If you take ayahuasca during this period, the active ingredients will reach your brain more quickly after you ingest the tea and more of the substance will cross over into your brain, increasing the effectiveness of the substance.

My journey with Kambo started in 2017, but my work as a healer has been with me all my life. Following widespread pain and numbness, I had an MRI brain scan and several repeated blood tests. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and a cyst in my brain in 2012 that left me needing full-time care. I lost my mobility and feeling in most of the left side of my body. Multiple Sclerosis (MS) was suspected, so a challenging time with my health started.

I was in chronic pain, incontinent with a long list of symptoms and unable to work. During this time, I was on various medications to try and control my symptoms and failing health. The medication was causing me severe side effects, but I had no option but to take high doses of painkillers that increased in dosage quickly. I was on 10ml of Morphine daily to allow me pain-free time to get going.

A pain clinic in Cambridgeshire taught me how to live with chronic pain as it became clear that I would suffer from it for the rest of my life. 
 It was at this point that my Neurologist told me that there was nothing else that could be done for me. I refused to believe this would be my life and returned to my roots, alternative therapies, spirituality and shamanism.

Through deep self-inquiry and spiritual research, I realised there was much more to these illnesses than I thought. My healing had to start at an emotional and spiritual level before any change would come into my physical body. I became disconnected from spirit, and this was my calling. I knew there were plant medicines that could help my symptoms, but I wanted to work with plants that would heal me on an emotional and spiritual level. I discovered past life regression, a method used and developed by “Deloris Cannon” called “QHHT”, and decided to start here. I went to a past life event that showed me I did bring some of the trauma and illness into this life. I did a lot of healing using the “QHHT.” I started experiencing some improvement in my health, but I knew there was a lot more work to be done. What was my calling, and why did this manifest in my life? I wondered. 

I knew of African plant medicines, but Ayahuasca, a powerful medicine from the Amazon jungle that helped people heal emotionally and spiritually, came to mind. I felt the calling to work with this plant medicine. Because I was on a lot of medication contraindicated with Ayahuasca, I could not receive the treatment then, but it was a blessing.  

I worked with my Doctor to stop the medication that wasn’t working for me anyway. Over a year, I finished all the drugs, and I was able to take Ayahuasca. From my first ceremony, healing started. I was able to release old, stuck trauma and heal the part of my life causing me to be unwell. It wasn’t a comfortable journey, but I am genuinely thankful. It’s not easy to look in the mirror and then go away to fix what you saw was wrong, but the rewards are incredible if you are willing to do so.

It was through Ayahuasca that I met the frog spirit. I didn’t know what this frog spirit meant, but I was told about Kambo. At this point, I healed my body significantly and could walk and function better, but I still had chronic leg pain.
I looked up Kambo and decided to sit with the medicine to see if something still needed releasing that I couldn’t do with other therapies. From my first treatment with Kambo, the pain in my legs went and has not returned.
I felt an incredible connection with Kambo, and the final stage of my healing was completed. I could release stuck energy stored in my body that I didn’t even know existed. I know about all of Kambo’s medical benefits, which certainly played a role in my healing. Still, the spiritual and emotional healing it facilitated was the shift I needed. I heard the calling to work with spirit, and I answered. I now live a healthy life better than ever before.  

It’s through self-transformation that I now help others to do the same.
